Brockleians 12 - 0 Swanley Men

On what was the hottest day of the year so far, the Swans managed to keep cool heads and churn out a reasonable result against a team playing 2 leagues above them.

The first quarter was all about the men in green and white. Pressuring the home team in their half for the duration and coming close to scoring a few times, they were just missing the finishing touches to get points on the board.

The 2nd and 3rd quarters belonged to Brocks. The Swans had to dig deep to put in a defensive set to hold off the counties 4 side. But as the game wore on, the first try was scored in the last play of the half.

The final quarter was 50/50 for domination, with the swans just edging the possession. Once again, they were missing that finishing prowess to get over the white wash.

Brocks finally pulled off their set piece move they'd been trying all game to dot down in the corner at the final whistle.

There are plenty of positives from the game and areas to work on for the coming season. On the whole, the men are happy with the preseason prep and ready to make a dent in the Kent Met A league with the first game next Saturday away to Charlton Park 2s.
