A spirited 8 Swanley men made the trip to Hayes this Saturday for what we thought was a rematch. Topped up with 5 MP Hayes players we took to the field.
The first half was a really even contest with the balance tipping in the swans favour. 90% of the game was spent in CP half with their trys being scored from quick breaks round the side of the swans depleted line up.
The half ended 2 scores each and the swans were keen to continue the domination in the 2nd half. Charlton park had other plans. With 4 new fijian players turning up at half time adding to the 2 already on the field the Swanley men were put to the test. They did their best to contain them but being down to 12 men due to injury it was a losing battle.
All in all the swans put a good shift in and built on the previous week. Thanks to the met for hosting and getting plenty of beers in and we wish the 6 Fijian lads the best next week when they start their 1st team campaign at level 7.
Next week the men travel to Beckenham for their first league game, fingers crossed they may actually field a full team this time.
