Maidstone vets 0 - 33 Swanley Men
The day started with a sombre silence to remember one of Maidstone Rugby Club's VP who recently passed, our condolences are with you.
The game was underway and Swanley were able to attack in abundance in the first 20 with a couple trys from new signing Alistaire Whibley, could've been 1 more but he decided to drop the ball forward when well clear of defenders in the try zone. Maidstone came back at the Swans with multiple waves of strong carriers and light footed backs, with a strong shift in the 22 the men in green managed to keep stones at bay.
The second half saw much of the same, Maidstone's battering rams aka the pack put the defence to the test with the swans pouncing on opportunities to counter attack and pick up a few extra trys.
There may have been a couple older gentlemen on the pitch but they were by all means not past it, inflicting some heavy knocks to the swans, Maidstone really gave everything to the end.
It was a pleasure to see the return of our own 'Veterans' Phil Butler and Owen Connelly.
Big defensive performances from Captain Jack and Liam Connelly and special mention to the Swanley Silverback Rhys Ryan for terrifying most participants today including his own team.

The men in green return next week with a trip to KCH 2s to continue the league campaign, details to follow.
