Swanley Men 34 v 24 Old Alleyians 4s
Absolute scenes!!!
The swans caught the golden goose.
Once again, the lads were keen. Ready to make club history.
They took to the field ready to ask questions, Old A's answered with 2 quick fire trys duly converted. The heads stayed up, though. They discovered Alleyians strengths and exploited their weaknesses.
Ben Hemmings' boot was on fire, giving the swans plenty of feild gain from the plethora of Old A's penalties.
The half ended 14-13 to the visitors.
The 2nd half was nearly a mirror image of the first. A's came out strong putting pressure on the green and white and racking up a couple more trys. But low and behold the 'Swanley Heart' persevered, dominant collisions, big scrums and dashing runs brought the score back even then into the lead.
All of this being watched on by our 16th player, The Bevy, who without we would be nothing.π
This result means so much to the players and the club as a whole, its a real sign of the turnaround that's happened since coming out of lockdown. The atmosphere is positive and we welcome you all to come join us for the ride.
